1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself,
so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
HEBREWS 12: 1-3
Kids face all kinds of races in daily life: racing to beat the tardy bell, racing to answer all the questions on a timed quiz, or racing against the clock to complete the next level on their favorite iPad game. But the Bible teaches that each and every person on earth is already in a race whether they know it or not, the race of life. This is the most important race a person will ever run, and God wants to equip His children to glorify Him as they faithfully run the path He has laid out.
By the end of their week at Student Life For Kids camp, kids will know that the race is more than just winning a prize. Kids will have a clearer understanding of the race as the Christian life, that God has a special part for them to play within it, and that they can listen to Him as He leads them down the best path. The race will not be easy, but kids will know God has a purpose for them as they run with excellence.
